v1.21
Roth is its own bucket
Plan separates Roth from pretax accounts and models conversions. Recurring transactions keep your category despite changing bank reference numbers.
Financial PlanningTransactions
Now you can
- Roth IRA and Roth 401(k) sit in their own Roth bucket, separate from pre-tax
- The model treats Roth withdrawals as qualified and tax-free, with no lifetime RMDs
- The model taxes pretax Roth conversions and assumes a backdoor Roth has no taxable portion
- Recurring payments keep the category you pick, even with a bank confirmation token
- Card payments and mortgages keep your category instead of staying labeled Transfer
New
- Roth IRA and Roth 401(k) use a separate bucket that assumes qualified withdrawals and no lifetime RMDs
- The model moves pretax funds to Roth with current-year tax and models backdoor Roth contributions without conversion tax
- Medicare-age plans charge the yearly IRMAA surcharge from MAGI two years prior, so a conversion this year can raise premiums two years later
Updates
- Ongoing 401(k) and Roth contributions route into pre-tax and Roth instead of all landing in taxable
- Plan waits until About You is complete, so the projection is built from your household profile
- Vault files can be up to 25MB, enough for a scanned tax return
Bug fixes
- Recategorizing a recurring payment now sticks. Bank confirmation tokens no longer create a one-off rule
- The category you pick on a card payment or mortgage applies even when Nino still matches the pair as a transfer
- Plan uses your tax profile instead of a flat 15% rate when filing status is known
