Your wealth, fully managed for lawyers
A flat-fee CPA and financial planner team that gives you personalized, holistic advice across your taxes and financial plan. We plan your bonus, partner draws and K-1 income, set your estimated payments, and file your returns.

What we handle for lawyers
From a W-2 associate to a partner paid through a K-1. This is the work we do at each stage.
- 01
Bonus withholding
Employers can withhold a flat 22% on a bonus, while your top rate may be 35% or 37%. We size the gap and close it with withholding or an estimated payment before April.
- 02
Draws versus taxable income
Partnership income is taxed when it is allocated to you, not when it is distributed. We plan from your K-1 income, not from the deposits.
- 03
Estimated payments
Once you are a partner, nobody withholds for you. Your CPA sets quarterly payments due April 15, June 15, September 15 and January 15, against the 110% safe harbor if your AGI topped $150,000.
- 04
A late K-1
Partnership K-1s are due March 15, and some arrive later. Your CPA plans the extension and the payment that goes with it, since an extension moves the filing date but not the tax.
- 05
Capital contributions
Buying into a partnership can require cash up front or through withheld distributions. We plan it alongside your reserves and other goals.
- 06
Retirement saving
We fill the accounts available to you, add a backdoor Roth above the Roth income limit, and plan around the firm’s own retirement plan. Your CPA projects salary, bonus and K-1 income in one tax plan, and your financial planner plans spending from the cash you actually receive.
How Nino helps lawyers
Billable hours leave little room for your own finances. On an Advisor plan your CPA and financial planner plan around your compensation, file the returns, and meet with you each quarter, and Nino’s AI software keeps the picture current between meetings.

A plan in your first two weeks
Your CPA and financial planner build your tax and financial plan around salary, bonus or partnership income, and your household goals, then revisit it every quarter.
-
Returns that wait for the K-1
Your CPA prepares and files your federal and state returns, including partnership income, and files nothing until you approve it.
-
Your numbers on demand
Ask Nino’s AI how a bonus, a draw or a capital call changes your cash and taxes, using your own connected accounts. Connections are read-only.
What changes when you make partner?
Four things that work differently the year you stop being an employee.
Nobody withholds
As a partner you pay income tax and self-employment tax through quarterly estimates. To avoid a penalty, pay 90% of this year’s tax or 100% of last year’s, or 110% if last year’s AGI topped $150,000.
Cash can trail income
Capital commitments and distributions held back by the firm can leave you taxed on income you have not received. Keep a reserve sized to the tax, not the cash.
More than one state
If your income is taxed in more than one state, your CPA splits it so the same dollar is not taxed twice. Plus includes multi-state filing.
Investment income on top
The 3.8% net investment income tax applies above $200,000 of modified AGI, or $250,000 joint. Planning sales and gifts around it matters once partnership income is high.
