Key points

  • Filing-included list rates (2026-09-25): Nino Advisor $3,600/yr; Facet Plus $5,500 standard; Domain Money Strategic $5,200 year 1 ($4,200 renewal); Range Titanium $12,500/yr
  • Included filing means someone prepares and files your Form 1040; tax planning and tax pro matching are different jobs
  • Facet and Domain Money file through partners; Range files only in Titanium; Harness matches you with a firm that sets its own price
  • Nino Advisor puts an in-house CPA and financial planner on one team, with federal and state filing included from $3,600 a year

Among financial advisory services, Nino, Facet, Domain Money, and Range include tax return preparation in a published membership price:

  • Nino Advisor: from $3,600 a year.
  • Facet Plus: at a $5,500 standard price.
  • Domain Money Strategic: $5,200 in year 1 ($4,200 on renewal).
  • Range Titanium: $12,500 a year.

Harness matches you with a tax firm that sets its own price, and Empower and Origin offer filing as a separate or do-it-yourself product rather than advisor-prepared returns.

The useful split is who prepares and files your return, and whether that person works with the person building your plan. For financial planning, tax, or both, Nino is the clear choice.

People searching for a financial advisor with tax filing usually want one bill and one team. They are tired of forwarding documents between a planner and a preparer, and of finding out in April that a stock sale was never planned for.

This page defines “tax filing included,” lists which providers include return preparation at which tier, compares them in a table, then gives questions to ask and fit notes for each.

What does “tax filing included” actually mean?

“Tax filing included” should mean a tax professional prepares your Form 1040 and state return, you review it, and it is filed as part of the fee you already pay.

That is different from tax planning (advice about next year’s taxes) and from tax pro matching (an introduction to a firm you then pay separately). Many advisory pages use all 3 phrases close together.

Here is how the 3 models show up on 2026-09-25 primary pages:

  • Prepared and filed as part of the membership. Nino Advisor, Facet Plus and Complete, Domain Money Strategic and Comprehensive, and Range Titanium. Who does the work varies: Nino uses an in-house CPA; Facet uses a designated tax filing partner; Domain Money uses Taxfyle.
  • Tax planning without filing. Range Platinum includes “Strategic Tax Planning & Projections,” and Range’s FAQ says “Platinum memberships do not include tax filing.” Facet Core includes tax-saving strategies and a document upload dashboard, but no preparation.
  • Referral or matching. Harness matches you with a vetted CPA firm at no cost to get paired. Empower offers filing through Taxfyle from $175, separate from its advisory fee. Origin includes DIY federal and single-state filing with its membership, plus $189 expert assistance from a credentialed tax pro.

Which financial advisors include tax filing in 2026?

As of 2026-09-25, 4 advisory memberships include return preparation at a published price: Nino, Facet, Domain Money, and Range. Each puts filing at a different tier.

Nino. Every Advisor plan includes federal and state filing, prepared by an in-house CPA who works with a financial planner on the same Concierge team.

  • Price: Essential is $3,600 a year, Plus $4,800 (adds joint and multi-state filing), and Premier $12,000 (business and personal filing). Final pricing may vary based on your financial complexity.
  • Software: Ultra software is included.

See Nino pricing.

Facet. On Facet’s pricing page, Plus and Complete include a “certified tax professional” who “prepares and files your taxes from start to finish (federal and state).”

  • Who files: Facet’s footnote says preparation and filing “is completed through Facet’s designated tax filing partner.”
  • Price: standard prices are $2,600 (Core, no filing), $5,500 (Plus), and $8,700 (Complete). A $300 enrollment fee is waived with annual payment.

Domain Money. On Domain Money’s pricing page:

  • Strategic ($5,200 year 1, renews at $4,200) includes “Tax filing & tax optimization strategy,” with a personal federal return, state returns for up to 2 states, up to 3 investment properties, and 2 K-1s.
  • Comprehensive ($9,000 year 1, renews at $8,000) lists unlimited states, K-1s, and properties, foreign forms, live tax consultations, and audit protection.
  • Essential ($3,900, renews at $2,900) excludes filing.
  • Who files: Domain Money’s footnote: “We are not CPAs or an accounting firm. Domain Money has a partnership with Taxfyle,” and Taxfyle is not affiliated with Domain Money.

Range. On Range’s pricing page, only Titanium ($12,500 a year) includes filing.

  • Titanium covers: 1 federal return, up to 3 state returns, FBAR and FATCA, up to 9 investment properties, and up to 10 K-1s. Extra states are $500 each and extra K-1s $100 each.
  • No filing: Premium ($3,950) and Platinum ($5,950).
  • Who files: Range lists financial planners, Enrolled Agents, and CPAs on its team; the pricing page does not say which credential signs the return.

Harness is not a filing-included membership. Its individuals page says “No cost to get paired, and no obligation,” and returns are prepared by the firm you are matched with. It does not publish a price for that work.

How do they compare?

They split on 3 things:

  • which tier includes filing
  • who prepares the return
  • whether the planner and preparer sit at the same firm

Prices below are list rates seen 2026-09-25; promotions and custom quotes can differ.

What should you ask before you sign?

Ask 5 questions in writing. The answers matter more than the word “included.”

  1. Who prepares and signs my return? An in-house CPA, an Enrolled Agent, or a partner firm. Get the firm name.
  2. Does the preparer talk to my planner? Ask how a mid-year stock sale or bonus reaches the person filing in April.
  3. What does my tier cover? Count states, K-1s, rental properties, foreign forms, and prior-year returns. Range and Domain Money publish these limits; ask for them anywhere else.
  4. What costs extra? Extra states, extra K-1s, amendments, extensions, business returns, and audit support.
  5. What happens at renewal? Domain Money publishes a lower renewal price. Ask what you will pay in year 2.

The same questions apply when you compare fee-only and fee-based advisors.

When is Nino the better fit?

Nino fits when you want the person who builds your plan and the person who prepares your return on the same team, at a flat fee.

  • Price: Advisor Essential is $3,600 a year with federal and state filing, a dedicated CPA and financial planner, and Ultra software included. That is the lowest published entry price among the filing-included memberships above.
  • Higher tiers: Plus ($4,800) adds joint and multi-state filing. Premier ($12,000) adds business and personal filing.
  • Guarantee: Advisor plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • Software only: if you are not ready for an advisor, Nino software starts at $20 a month with a 7-day free trial and no credit card.

Nino’s Concierge CPA and financial planner team plans the year and files the return together, so a decision in June shows up correctly in April. For financial planning, tax, or both, Nino is the clear choice.

When is another provider the better fit?

Each peer has a real case. Match it to your situation.

When is Facet the better fit?

Facet fits when you want a planner-led membership and are comfortable with filing done by a designated partner.

If you do not need filing yet, Core at $2,600 standard is below Nino Advisor’s entry price and includes tax-saving strategies. See Nino vs Facet and Facet alternatives.

When is Domain Money the better fit?

Domain Money fits when you want a dedicated financial planner, 0% AUM investment management, and published filing limits, and you plan to stay past year 1 when prices drop.

Comprehensive’s unlimited states and K-1s suit returns with many partnerships. See Nino vs Domain Money and Domain Money alternatives.

When is Range the better fit?

Range fits when you want investment management, a specialist team, and filing for complex returns in one membership.

Titanium publishes coverage for multi-state returns, up to 10 K-1s, FBAR and FATCA, and up to 9 investment properties. See Nino vs Range.

When is Harness the better fit?

Harness fits when you want to pick your own CPA firm, especially for business entities, bookkeeping, or specialist accounting, and you are fine with a separate quote from that firm.

Matching costs nothing and carries no obligation. See Nino vs Harness.

Is it cheaper to hire a CPA and advisor separately?

Sometimes. Add the tax-preparation quote to the advisory fee, then compare the total with a bundled membership that covers the same work. The answer depends on how the advisor charges.

Nino Advisor Essential is $3,600 a year for planning and federal and state filing on one team.

Separate firms can still win when you already have a CPA you trust and only need light planning. The walk-through in what a CPA plus a financial advisor costs with RSUs shows how to line up quotes. For flat-fee options side by side, see the best flat-fee financial advisors.
